12 gauge 28 gram (1 oz) Wad Measurements: These wads may be used for 24 gram loads, usually with the bulkier powders, as Red Dot and Clays. Check the powder manufacturer's recipe books for data.

And for the special section on 410 bore skeet reloading, 410 bore 1/2 oz wad measurements:
Note: plaswads are somewhat difficult to measure exactly. Please take the dimensions as "pretty close" only... 1 - Distance from the bottom of the overpowder (OP) cup to the bottom of the shot cup. Note that the REX is an unusual wad in that it has a concave shot cup bottom and the OP cup is quite deep. In the 410 section, I have added the shot cup petal thickness as this may affect volume. 2 - Measurements of the new, stiffer, Winchester AA 12L. It's also now 1 mm shorter and a grain lighter. 3 - CB0178-12, Winchester 12L replacement. Noticibly softer shooting 24 gram wad with very smooth recoil. 4 - Helarco(US) VP 05 has an unusually deep, squared off (not hemispheric) OP cup, 5.5mm deep. Wad can be easily used for 1 oz/28 gram shells as well, especially when using dense powders. 5 - Re: Gualandi V0/SRC. The wad referred to is the one with teeth in the OP cup. Ballistic Products calls this the Short Range Crusher. 6 - Tho Claybuster calls this a 1 oz wad, it fits well in Fiocchi 6-fold cases for 24 grams. A little 24 gram loading data would be nice here. 7 - The CB 1034-20 has a truncated cone located in the the center of the shot cup, about 8 mm wide and 4 mm tall. See picture at the page bottom. Note: production wad will be re-numbered to CB1075-20 and the wad color will be green to eliminate confusion with the CB1034-28 wad. 8 - Downrange PC410R wad has a powder anti-migration ring. Generally, a 24 gram wad will have about 27mm length. Wads intended by the manufacturer for 28 grams are useable for 24 gram loads by choosing some of the following: bulkier powders as Red Dot or Clays, shorter cases, cases that have smaller internal dimensions, 6-fold crimps and by lowering the pre-fold die to take up more plastic, effectively making the case shorter. There are many recipes in the propellent manufacturer's reloading manuals using 28 gram/ 1 ounce wads to safely load 24 gram shells. The manufacturers are very responsive and helpful to any questions that arise. Euro wads from Bacheri &Pellegri and Gualandi are available at ballisticproducts.com and precisionreloading.com. HelarcoUS wads are available from ballisticproducts.com.
